Because I Said So

Most people can find it in themselves to appreciate a good chick flick every once in a while. Is Because I Said So one of the good ones? It involves a single mother just about to turn 60, with only one of her three daughters yet unmarried. She is constantly trying to control her daighter's love life, and after she creates an online dating profile for her daughter, things get way out of control, and people get hurt. In the end though, everyone winds up happy. Personally, I found the meddeling mother frusterating and the way that sex is viewed in this less than conventional family to be too promiscuous for my taste. However, the movie did have the required fairy tale ending, and some great humor. Is this movie a creative gem or a flouncy flop?

Ghost Rider: Going Down In Flames?

Nicholas Cage is a great actor and so too is the beautiful Eva Mendez, however is their performance along with that of their castmates something that can make this movie special. Ghost Rider takes its roots from its comic book version and deals with a man by the name of Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist, who gives up his soul to become a hell blazing force against injustices, which leads to a fight against the power hungry Blackheart, who is evidently the son of the devil himself. Now the director, Mark Steven Johnson, also directed Dare Devil, which was a mediocre movie at best. Comic book fans and other loyal Cage/Mendez supporters will flock to see this movie. Even though this is true, what about the rest? Can Cage's versatile performance in any movie he does captivate movie lovers? Or will this just be another comic book attempt to become a hit success movie gone bad? Reminder to many that Spider-Man is one of the few comic book movies to hit gold. I believe that this comic book should've been left on the shelf and that this movie will only bring in those that are curious. It comes out February 16th and I'd love to be proved wrong. Opinions please!

Happily Ever After

I recently saw the movie "Smokin' Aces." I personally was not a huge fan of the movie, but my boyfriend loved it. I felt that it had way too many plots going on that didn't seem to all line up. In the end of the movie, almost everyone dies and everyone seems unhappy. I hate these type of endings. Maybe it's just because I'm a girl and I love a good ol' fairytale story where everyone in the end is happy. This movie left me with a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. How does everyone else feel about this? Do you like any type of story with any type of ending? Or are you like me and you love a good happy ending? Let me know!

Tri-Fector

If I were to randomly walk up to twenty five people, varying in ages, let's say from teen years on up, and asked them to name their top ten favorite movies of all time, I guarantee that a large percentage of them would include a trilogy movie in their list. The "Tri-fector" as I like to call it always seems to appeal to movie goers and bring in a surplus of money at the box office. They seem to captivate us and entice us. Fan clubs, conventions, websites, merchandise, and hours upon hours of watching the movie on end is a result of this. Trilogies including Star Wars (new and old), Indiana Jones, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, Jaws, Spider Man, Home Alone, Mighty Ducks,Jurassic Park, Austin Powers, and many more bring satisfaction to all. Some are satisfied with the works while others complain about specific substitutions or the end product. However, it seems as if when it comes down to it, the world and all ages love trilogies. Also, sometimes it is just best to leave a movie at three and not add on anymore (AGREE?) as well as changing the characters over time (AGREE?). Anyways I'm just curious about what your opinions are to this?

Epic Movie

Is it just me or is this movie a complete bust. I haven't even looked up the income its pulled in for its first week or two and I don't feel I need to.I saw the trailer for Epic Movie and thought it was tacky as well as ridiculous in its content. Personally, any movie that is motivated in its intentions to mock other prime time hit movies and poke as well as make fun at them should bail out of the production before they mock themselves. When was the last time these type of movies were a so called 'box office hit' or were funny in their nature. Plus you can't even call those who act in the movies talented actors. Overall, I may be sounding harsh in my content and it is my opinion as well as I haven't seen the movie first hand, yet I believe that this is a common opinion among many. Individuals go into these movies with curiosity and hope it'll be a movie that will make them die of laugther, but walk out with disgust and a ripped off feeling. What do you think?
