The Reaping Ripped Me Off
Whatever you do do not go and see the movie, The Reaping. It is basically a down-played version of the Omen, could even be the movie that launches into the Omen, and has the same twists as well as parallelling plot. The plot summary goes as this: A christian ministry women, Hillary Swank, has lost faith from the Lord after losing her daughter and husband to tragic deaths in Africa. Her goal is to now disapprove all religious phenomena, yet when the plagues start picking up in a small Louisiana town, it is hard to denounce the religious sequence of events with science. It is now up to her to look to God for answers and fight off this evil. With this in mind, from the beginning of the movie until the end, there was a sense that you knew what was going to happen. There would be ten plagues and then good would triumph over evil which is exactly what happens (no ifs, ands, or buts about it), besides the fact that the near end of the movie has a little twist. The characters are sub-par in their acting performance and the scary movie honestly didn't make you jump or wasn't that suspenseful. Therefore, I gave the movie a 1 ticket rating. Now all of this is my personal opinion and you have your right to go and see the movie. However, you will walk out of the theater looking at your empty wallet (or what used to contain more money) or pockets, and thinking man I should've spent that money on an ice cream cone (as I did).
